The Story Behind it All
Introduction
Meet Auston Duncan, a former United States Air Force member who transformed his life after a devastating injury.
The Fall and Struggle
A Life-Changing Injury
Auston Duncan was medically retired from the United States Air Force after sustaining a spinal cord injury on Veterans Day, 2021, becoming an incomplete paraplegic. Being wheelchair-bound and with no sense of direction, Auston was not ready for the battles that were to ensue.
Battling "The Pit"
In 2022, his fight with mental health drove him down into what he refers to as "The Pit"—a dark place of hopelessness and escapism. After battling psychosis, suicidal ideation, and addiction to gambling and alcohol, Auston had no guidance or direction on rebuilding an identity.
The Turning Point
Spark of Inspiration
In 2023, acceptance began with a spark provided by speakers like David Goggins, Jocko Willink, and Kobe Bryant. Auston took their words and curated his own path by analyzing different elements of his own life.
A Year of Execution
Progress and Discernment
2024 has been the year of execution and discernment. Although Auston is nowhere near where he wants to be and who he will become, the mental journey so far has surpassed his old mentality from before the accident occurred.

The Birth of Seeds of Growth Journal
Inspirations and Purpose
The creation behind this journal has many inspirations: fellow patients he met at Craig Hospital in Denver, fellow warriors he met through the Air Force Wounded Warrior program, and many others whose battles are not hidden from the world.

A Guide, Not an Answer
"The purpose of this journal is and will always be to help others—a guide, not an answer. A guide to help others take decisive action for their own lives. Not to necessarily change circumstances or environments, but to enable a change of inward-to-outward perspective of who we are individually and collectively. To understand what exists in our own world around us daily. All by our own choice."
Join Us on the Journey
In a world of chaos and confusion, it is easy to find ourselves in a consistent cycle of temporary relief. What if we didn't dread Mondays and instead made it our favorite day of the week? That's a small example of the change in Auston's mentality.
The purpose is to help others through growth. The goal is to heal others by increasing their understanding of themselves. The best chance we have of doing that is by teamwork, working together, and moving as one.
Let's grow together!
